We were asked to help cook at the week-end Youth Retreat in Tn. last week. We had a great time cooking, serving and being with other people that love the Lord! We arrived in Tn. Wed afternoon
Going thru the 'gate' some cabins on the left,
the dining hall and kitchen on the right. Some of us cooks had rooms in this building too.
On up the hill was the main assembly hall. The young people all stayed in cabins behind the dining hall. We got there, unpacked and prepared supper. After clean-up they had an 'Ice Breaker' project. They were divided into groups, given ingredients for a cake. They were to make the cake,--without a recipe-- bring it to the kitchen to bake. Then after it was cooled they were to decorate it with the icing provided, then they were judged. One recieved the honor of the nicest looking and another for taste. The results were real interesting!! One really tasted like they had a recipe, others...well we will just say they were less than desirable! One of the judges said 'The icing on this one is good!'
Trying to decide how to do this....
Given the 'Go' signal....
This cake won the taste test...
They were making a flower..oopps but no green icing, so they picked out the green coated sugar thingys to put on the stem.
This cake won the 'best looking' test...
